COME ALONG AND JOIN US AT
BRACKLEY
Brackley Rugby Club has a
strong YOUTH SECTION and as this is the year of the World Cup, we are getting
ready for the profile of rugby to be raised once again. There’s nothing better than a World Cup to generate
interest among young and old alike in a fantastic sport. And with a growing
membership across most age groups, Brackley Junior Section enjoys all aspects
of being part of Brackley Rugby Club.
A key aspect of Brackley
RFC is that we are a friendly and open Club, so we welcome both boys and girls
as players regardless of their backgrounds, nationality or denomination and we
actively encourage the development of players and coaches. We believe that rugby is about fun and
commitment and that all players should be given the chance to excel and reach
their full potential. Therefore all our coaches have taken the appropriate RFU
coaching courses, are fully qualified and highly motivated. This means that we
can offer an exceptional training environment the ethos of which is that whilst
winning is important it is not the only reason for playing – team spirit,
camaraderie and playing the right way are all equally as important
All junior sides from
under sevens right up to Under 16s are catered for at Brackley at our grounds
at Fine Lady Fields, Nightingale Close, Brackley.
Brackley RUFC will always
be happy to accept new players. Whether
an experienced player or an enthusiastic novice you will be made to feel at
home by the welcoming parents and coaches.
A full fixture list is planned for 2007-08 and places have already been
booked for a number of tours and festivals.
At Brackley
·
The playing
side of the club is excellent. We ensure all our juniors get a game.
·
Our coaches
are all qualified via the RFU and CRB checked.
They provide first-rate levels of coaching. These coaches are both past and present day
players and understand the sport.
·
The social
side of the Junior Section is very well supported. Our family discos and
karaoke evenings are a good source of fun and we all enjoy working together to
promote team spirit. Our “Funday” at the
end of the season offers everyone the chance to let his or her hair down, join
in and have a good day out.
·
Our
volunteers, many of them parents, are always happy to lend a hand and help out
-whether it be running the Juniors’ tuck shop, the Juniors’ Club Shop,
providing help in the kitchen or demonstrating their wonderful barbecuing
talents in the summer.
The outstanding support of
all these volunteer parents across all aspects of Brackley RUFC Junior Section
is, and has always been, a factor in putting Brackley up there as one of the
friendliest rugby clubs in the county.
In 2006-07 season Brackley
Rugby Club is working towards gaining the Seal of Approval. This is awarded by
the Rugby Football Union in recognition of the outstanding efforts of a club
and its officers towards the development of rugby in its area. BRUFC is working very hard to achieve this
award, which demonstrates the exceptional level of coaching, child protection
and sports development that has been achieved by the club already. However the club is always striving to reach
higher goals and has now put in place a rigorous plan of action to take the
club even further.
As part of that plan we
are active in the local community and believe that we should play a full part
in helping to develop sport and healthy lifestyles amongst all local school
children. In support of this we are developing strong links with all local
schools and host an annual competition for the Junior Schools in the area which
is organized in conjunction with
Another aspect of our
Junior Section’s commitment to working with the community are our close ties to
Northampton Saints. We support their CashBack scheme, (see www.northamptonsaints.co.uk for more details) and attend their pre match
training, tournaments and camps.
We also work with Rugby
Evolution, www.rugbyevolution.com,
a groundbreaking rugby training programme
for schools and clubs that has been designed to ensure that the training is
very much skills driven with a long term commitment to the individual school,
club or pupil. The Rugby Evolution
experience is designed to ensure that a pupil will see improving skills session
by session. Elements of the training
have been taken not only from rugby but also other sports – with games and exercises
developed and modified to meet the needs of rugby whilst teaching the basic
skills of game-sense, foot speed, hand speed and visual fitness.
The Junior Section has two
divisions. The Under 7s to Under 12s are known as ‘Minis’. Youth
